MEET DEB HELLMAN
I spent 25 years watching good business owners get bad funding advice. So I built something different.
I’m Deb Hellman — a funding advisor and broker with more than 25 years in finance and accounting. I help business owners, and especially women entrepreneurs, structure capital the right way: before a single application goes out, before anyone runs your credit.

MY STORY
I've always wanted to understand the numbers before making a move.
“My philosophy is simple: I’d rather build a few real relationships than a big network. Platforms change and algorithms come and go, but trust is the thing that lasts. One honest conversation will always mean more to me than being another name on a list — and that’s what I build everything on.”
— Deb Hellman, Founder
My background is in finance and accounting. For more than two decades I sat with businesses to help them see where they actually stood — cash flow, balance sheets, the whole picture. What struck me over and over was how few owners had anyone in their corner doing that work with them before they went looking for money. So they’d apply cold. Get turned down. Or — worse — get approved for the wrong thing and end up carrying pressure they never should have taken on.
I saw it happen to women entrepreneurs especially, and almost never because the business was weak. Usually the opposite: strong operations, sharp instincts, a work ethic most people couldn’t match. They were simply walking into funding conversations unprepared, in a system that wasn’t built to root for them.
“I watched capable women get declined with no explanation — when the truth was they just needed someone to tell them straight.”
I watched capable women get declined with no explanation. Get steered toward expensive products because those moved fastest, not because they fit. Get discouraged and decide they “weren’t ready” — when the truth was they just needed someone to look at the full picture first and tell them straight.
So I made a decision. I’d build an advisory practice where the first move is understanding your business, not pulling your credit. Where strategy comes before the application — every time. Where nobody leaves the conversation more confused than they walked in.
Women entrepreneurs are at the heart of why I do this, but I work with any owner who values the advisory approach — trades and contractors, service businesses, established operators, and people just getting started. The size of the deal has never been the point. The point is that when you leave the conversation, you know exactly where you stand, what your real options are, and what comes next. Every business owner deserves that kind of clarity.
“After 25 years, here’s what I know for certain: funding done wrong creates pressure, and funding done right creates growth. The difference almost always comes down to whether someone sat down with you first.”
No obligation. No hard pull. Just clarity on your options.
WHAT I BELIEVE
A handful of things I won't bend on.
Strategy before applications
I won’t recommend a lender until I understand your business. The right structure matters far more than the fastest yes.
Clarity over complexity
You should know exactly what you’re stepping into and why. If I can’t explain it plainly, I won’t put it in front of you.
No hard pull, no pressure
You should be able to explore your options without it costing you anything. I use soft pulls wherever possible and never push an application before you’re ready.
Women entrepreneurs belong at the table
This industry has underserved women business owners for too long. I’m here to change that, one conversation at a time.
HOW I WORK
It starts with a conversation — every time.
The 15-minute strategy review isn’t a sales call. It’s a straight conversation about your business, your goals, and where you really stand. If I can help, I’ll tell you exactly how. If I can’t, I’ll tell you that too.
Initial Review
I look at your full picture first — revenue, cash flow, credit position, and how the business is structured.
Funding Strategy
I tell you the truth about your options, even when it isn’t what you were hoping to hear.
Capital Match
When we move ahead, we move with a clear plan — not a pile of applications and crossed fingers.
Execution
Once approved, many programs fund in days — not months.
If you've ever wished someone would just sit down and explain your options in plain language — that's exactly what I do.
No hard pull. No pitch. No pressure. Just a 15-minute conversation that’ll give you more clarity than most owners get after months of applying on their own.
Helping women entrepreneurs — and every kind of business builder — fund their next move with strategy first.
